Tap once per session; each client keeps one link showing sessions used, left and the expiry date. ## Your client's link shows 7 of 10 used For personal trainers, tutors, swim coaches and instructors who sell packs of sessions. Tap once at the end of a session. Each client keeps one link that always shows how many are used, how many are left and when the pack expires, with no app or account. Sessions with Riverside Coaching Tuesday 7am 3 left 7 of 10 used Expires 30 Nov 2026 Used 27 Oct 2026, 20 Oct 2026, 13 Oct 2026 and 4 more A sample client link, as your client sees it on their phone. ### Three steps, then one tap per session 1. **Add a client and their pack.** A label such as "Tuesday 7am", a pack of 1 to 100 sessions, its start date and when it expires. For a client under 18 the label is a nickname or initials. 2. **Send them their link.** Copy it or show the QR code. It opens on any phone with no app, account or password, and it always shows the latest count. 3. **Tap +1 session.** The count drops, the date is recorded, and you have 5 seconds to undo. Clients who are running low rise to the top of your list. Free to use, with up to 10 active clients and every feature on. No paid plan is offered at present. Sessionstub records sessions; it does not take or track payments and it does not book. The rules it follows are on [how it works](https://sessionstub.com/how-it-works/), and what is stored is on the [privacy page](https://sessionstub.com/privacy/). Prefer paper? The [printable punch cards](https://sessionstub.com/printables/) are free. --- # How the session count and client link work, Sessionstub URL: https://sessionstub.com/how-it-works/ Last reviewed: 2026-10-28 > Which pack a session comes from, how expiry rules work, what Low, Used up and Expiring mean, undo, the client link and the printed pack record. ## How the session count and the client link work You add a client and a pack of sessions, then tap once per session. The server decides which pack each session comes from and keeps the count your client sees on their link. These are the rules it follows, in the order you meet them. Last updated 28 October 2026 ### The rules, in the order you meet them 1. **Your details.** You sign in with a passkey (your fingerprint, face or screen lock; no password, no email address) and set the name your clients see and your time zone. "Today" is always the date in your time zone, worked out by the server's clock, so a session logged at 11pm counts on the right day and a clock change never moves a date. 2. **Clients.** Each client has a label of up to 40 characters, and you choose adult or under 18 every time. A label never holds an email address or a phone number. For a client under 18 it is a nickname or initials only, one or two words, such as Sam or Sam J. 3. **Packs.** A pack is 1 to 100 sessions with a label, a start date and an expiry rule. It never holds an amount of money. A client can have up to 5 open packs at once. 4. **Expiry rules.** No expiry; a fixed date (the pack can be used until the end of that day); a number of days after the start (up to 730); or a number of days after the first session, which shows "Starts counting at first session" until then. A pack has expired once today is after its last day. 5. **Which pack a session comes from.** A session goes to an open pack: one that is not closed, has sessions left, has not expired and has started. With more than one, the pack that expires first goes first, packs with no expiry go last, and then the earlier start date, then the older pack. 6. **When no pack is open.** If a pack expired with sessions left, the server asks before logging the session on it, and marks it "after expiry". Otherwise it asks before logging it over the most recent pack, which then reads "11 of 10, 1 over". With no pack at all it asks you to add one first. 7. **Counting.** Used is the number of sessions logged on a pack and not removed; left is the size minus used. Changing a pack's size never goes below the sessions already used. 8. **Undo.** For 5 seconds after a tap there is an Undo button; after that, remove the session from the client's list. Removing a session never moves any other session to a different pack. A removed session is kept out of every count and deleted for good after 90 days. 9. **Double taps and dropped connections.** Every tap carries its own key. A double tap, a retry or a resend after a dropped connection finds the first one and never counts twice. If saving is paused or you are offline, the tap waits on your device and is sent again. 10. **Badges.** A client is Low when the sessions left across their open packs are at or below your mark (2 unless you change it, from 1 to 5), Used up at 0, and Expiring when the pack in use expires within your warning days (14 unless you change it). Your list puts low balances first, then expiring packs, then everyone else by name. 11. **The client's link.** One secret link per client, 128 bits after the # sign, which browsers never send to a server in the address. It shows your name, their current pack as sessions left, "7 of 10 used" and the expiry, the dates used and any note you chose to share. It reads the count fresh each time it opens. Replacing the link makes the old one say it was replaced, and the new one shows the date it was made. A pack the coach reopens says so, with the date. Archiving keeps it working; deleting the client stops it at once, and restoring them makes a new link. 12. **The printed record.** Any pack prints as a quarter-page card, 4 to an A4 or US Letter page, with a ticked box and the date for each session used. It says it is a record of sessions, not a receipt for payment. 13. **Limits.** Up to 10 active clients; archived clients do not count. Up to 120 sessions logged an hour, and up to 10 passkeys. ### Worked example A pack of 10 sessions starts on 2 November 2026 and expires on a fixed date, 30 November 2026. Seven sessions are logged from 2 to 8 November. The client's link reads **7 of 10 used, 3 left, expires 30 Nov 2026**, and on your list they are not yet Low, because 3 is above the mark of 2. The client also has a second pack of 10 with no expiry. The next session goes to the first pack, because it expires first: 8 of 10 used, 2 left, and the client is now Low. If nothing more is logged until 1 December, the first pack has expired with 2 left. A session that day finds the second pack open and goes there with no question asked. Had the client only the first pack, the server would ask: "The pack expired with 2 left. Log this session on it anyway?" Saying yes logs it, marked after expiry, and the link reads 9 of 10 used. A pack set to expire 30 days after the first session, first used on 5 November, can be used until the end of 5 December and has expired on 6 December. ### What it does not do - It does not take, track or show payments. There are no prices or amounts of money anywhere in the record. - It does not book sessions. It counts the ones that happened. - It does not make the count binding: the record is kept by you, the coach, and your client sees what you logged. - It never emails your clients, and never asks them for an account. The rules themselves are set out on [how it works](https://sessionstub.com/how-it-works/). ### Frequently asked questions **Does my client need an app or account?** No. Your client opens the link you send them in any browser on a phone or computer. There is nothing to install, no account, no password and no cookie. They never receive email from the site. **What does my client see?** Your name, their current pack as sessions left in large type, a line such as 7 of 10 used, the expiry date, and the dates of the sessions used. They also see any note you chose to share, and their older packs folded below. They see nothing about your other clients. **Can I undo a session?** Yes. After each tap there is an Undo button for 5 seconds. After that, open the client and remove the session from their list. Removing a session never moves any other session to a different pack, and a double tap is only ever counted once. **What if a client uses more than the pack?** When no pack has a session left, the server asks before logging it over the most recent pack. Say yes and the pack reads 11 of 10, 1 over, so you both see it. Adding a new pack is usually the better answer, and the question offers it. **How do expiry rules work?** A pack can have no expiry, a fixed last day, or a number of days after its start or after the first session. A pack is usable until the end of its last day. If a session comes after that with sessions still left, the server asks before logging it on the expired pack. **Can a client have two packs?** Yes, up to 5 open at once, such as a pack that runs out soon and a new one bought early. Each session goes to the pack that expires first, and packs with no expiry go last. Your client sees the pack in use first and the others below. **Do you handle payments?** No. Sessionstub records sessions, not money. There are no prices, amounts or payment details anywhere in a client's record, and a pack label with an amount in it is refused. Take payment however you do today. **What should I call pupils under 18?** A nickname or initials only, such as Sam or Sam J: one or two words of letters, where a second word is a single letter. The label shows on their link and on the printed record, so it never needs a full name, an email address or a phone number. **Can I change my client's link?** Yes. Replace the link on the client's page and send them the new one. The old link then says it was replaced and to ask you for the new one. Do this if a link was shared with someone it should not have been. The new link shows your client the date it was made. **Can I print a pack record?** Yes. On the client's page, choose the packs and your paper, A4 or US Letter. Each pack prints as a quarter-page card, 4 to a page, with a ticked box and the date for every session used, and you can add a QR code of their link. Blank punch cards are free on the printables page. **What happens to the link if I archive a client?** It keeps working, read only, so your client can still see their sessions. Archived clients do not count toward your active clients, and you can bring them back at any time. Deleting a client is different: the link stops at once. You can restore them for 7 days, with a new link to send them. **How do I export or delete everything?** On your account page, Download everything gives one file with your details, clients, packs, sessions and notes, with no link secrets. Delete my account signs you out everywhere and stops every client link at once; sign in within 7 days to cancel, after which everything is deleted for good. **Do I need an email address or a password?** No. You sign in with a passkey, made by your phone or computer with your fingerprint, face or screen lock. You can add up to 10 passkeys, and a recovery code shown once at sign up adds a new passkey if you lose every device. An email address is only needed for the Monday email, and only once you confirm it. **How many clients can I have?** Up to 10 active clients while no paid plan is offered. Archived clients do not count, so archive the clients you no longer see. **What does Saving is paused for now mean?** The site runs within a daily hosting allowance. When it is reached, a tap waits on your device and is sent again with the same key, so it is never counted twice. The same happens when you are offline. If your browser will not store it, the page says so: keep the page open until you are connected. **Does it work offline?** The information pages and your dashboard open offline once you have visited. Counts need a connection, because they live on the server. Taps made offline wait on your device and are sent when the connection is back. **Can I install it on my phone?** Yes. On an iPhone or iPad, open the Share menu in Safari and choose Add to Home Screen. On other browsers use Install in the menu. **Is Sessionstub connected to my gym or agency?** Sessionstub is not affiliated with any gym, tutoring agency, booking or payment service. It is a tool you use on your own account. --- # About the session pack counter for coaches, Sessionstub URL: https://sessionstub.com/about/ Last reviewed: 2026-10-28 > What Sessionstub is: a session pack counter for coaches and tutors, with one secret link per client, and a short list of what it stores and why. ## About Sessionstub A small site for coaches and tutors who sell packs of sessions, so the count lives in one place that both sides can see. ### Why it exists A pack of 10 sessions is simple until someone asks how many are left. The count usually lives on a paper card the client forgets, in a notes app only the coach can see, or in a spreadsheet that is never open at the end of a session. Both sides end up counting back through messages. Sessionstub keeps one count: the coach taps once at the end of a session, and the client opens one link that always shows the same number. ### How it is built The pages are static files. A small server answers the coach's requests and keeps clients, packs and sessions in one database on Cloudflare. The coach signs in with a passkey, so the site never holds a password, and clients need no account at all. Each client link is a long random secret, and the database keeps only a scrambled form of it, so a copy of the database would not open a single client's page. It asks for as little as it can. A coach gives no name and no email address to sign up; an email address is optional and only for the Monday email. A client is a label the coach chooses, and for a client under 18 that label is a nickname or initials. There is no advertising, no tracking script and no data shared for marketing. ### Who it is for Personal trainers, private tutors, language tutors, swim coaches and driving instructors: anyone who sells sessions in packs of 5 or 10 and is asked "how many do I have left?" It suits one person running their own diary, not a booking desk. ### What it is not It is not a booking tool and it does not handle money: there are no prices, amounts or payment details in it, and the printed record says it is not a receipt for payment. The count is a record kept by the coach, not a contract. Sessionstub is not affiliated with any gym, tutoring agency, booking or payment service. ### Install it On a phone it can sit on your home screen like an app. On an iPhone or iPad, open the Share menu in Safari and choose Add to Home Screen. On other browsers, use Install in the menu. ### Contact Questions and problem reports go to socialreminderinfo@gmail.com. Last updated 28 October 2026 ### Where it is kept Your clients, packs and sessions are kept in one Cloudflare D1 database that belongs to this site. Cloudflare chooses where the database lives; the region is not pinned, so it may be outside your country. The pages themselves are static files served by Cloudflare Pages. ### What is stored for an owner The owner is the coach who signs in. - A random account id, the account name you chose for your passkey manager (or Sessionstub owner), and when the account was made. - For each passkey: its public key, its id, a signature counter, the name you gave it and when it was added and last used. Never a fingerprint, a face or any biometric data: those stay on your device. - A scrambled form (SHA-256) of your recovery code. The code itself is shown to you once and not kept. - For each signed in device: a scrambled form of its session id, and when it was made, last used and when it expires (90 days after the last use, counted a day at a time). - Your details as a coach: the name your clients see, your time zone, your Low mark and your expiry warning. - Your email address, only if you add one, whether you have confirmed it, and a scrambled form of the confirmation link for 24 hours. It is the one place an email address is ever stored, and it is used only for the Monday email. - Each Monday list, sent or shown, which names client labels and counts: kept 90 days, and a deleted client's label is taken out of it when you delete them. A record of each email sent is kept 30 days. ### What is stored about your clients - Each client: the label you typed, whether they are an adult or under 18, and when they were added, archived or deleted. No email address, phone number or account. - Their link: a scrambled form (SHA-256) of its secret, plus a sealed copy that only this server can open with its own secret key, so you can copy the link again, and the scrambled forms of any links you replaced. - Each pack: its label, size, start date, expiry rule and whether it is closed. - Each session: its date, when it was logged, whether it was over the pack or after expiry, your note if you wrote one and whether you shared it, and the one-time key that stops a double tap counting twice. - Your pack templates, if you save any. Your client gets no cookie and gives nothing: opening their link stores nothing about them. ### Limits on how fast requests come To stop the server being flooded, it counts sign in steps per network address and writes per account in hourly buckets. The address is stored only as a keyed scramble that cannot be turned back into the address, and each bucket is deleted after 2 hours. Network addresses are never written to logs. ### How long it is kept - Your account, clients, packs and sessions: until you delete them. - A removed session (the undo): kept out of every count, then deleted for good after 90 days. - A deleted client, with their packs and sessions: 7 days, while you can restore them, then deleted for good. Their link stops working the moment you delete them. - A deleted account and everything in it: 7 days, while you can sign in and cancel, then deleted for good. - Sessions on a device: until 90 days after the last visit on that device, or until you sign out. - Passkey sign in requests: 5 minutes. Rate limit buckets: 2 hours. Email records: 30 days. ### What stays on your device A tap that has not reached the server yet, and what you are typing into a new client's label, are kept in your browser's local storage under keys beginning with `packcount` until the server confirms them, so a dropped connection loses nothing. The secret part of a client's link sits after the # sign, which browsers do not send to any server in the address. ### How to see and delete it On your account page, Download everything gives one file with all of it, with no link secrets. Delete my account removes everything after the 7 days above; you can also remove single sessions, delete empty packs and delete single clients. Requests by email go to socialreminderinfo@gmail.com. ### Cookies One cookie, and only for owners who sign in: a session cookie that keeps you signed in. It cannot be read by page scripts and is never sent to another site. Clients who open their link get no cookie. ### Page counts Visits may be counted by Cloudflare's own page counter, which sets no cookie and records that a page was opened, never what you typed or a link's secret. There is no other analytics. ### Payments No paid plan is offered at present; if one is added, this page will describe it. ### Email Only owners can receive email: one confirmation link when you add an address, then the Monday email, and only once you have confirmed the address. Your clients are never emailed. Emails are sent through Resend and carry no tracking images. ### Typeface Headings and printed records are set in Bricolage Grotesque, under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, served from this site. The licence is at [/fonts/OFL.txt](https://sessionstub.com/fonts/OFL.txt). A printed record with Arabic, Hebrew, Greek or Cyrillic in a label also embeds Noto Sans (SIL Open Font License 1.1), loaded only when you print; emoji and other scripts are drawn by your own browser. ### Changes and contact If this policy changes in a way that affects what is stored, the change will appear on this page. Questions go to socialreminderinfo@gmail.com. --- # Terms of use for the session pack counter, Sessionstub URL: https://sessionstub.com/terms/ Last reviewed: 2026-10-28 > The terms that apply when you use Sessionstub: what the session count can be relied on for, your records, acceptable use and support. ## Terms of use The terms that apply when you use Sessionstub: what the session count can be relied on for, your records, acceptable use and support. Last updated 28 October 2026 ### What this is Sessionstub keeps a count of sessions in packs that a coach sells to their clients, and shows each client their own count through a secret link. It records sessions; it does not take, track or show payments, and it does not book. The count is a record kept by the coach, not a contract: when you and your client disagree, the record is something to talk through, not proof either way. Anyone who has a client's link can read it until the coach replaces it, so send each link only to that client. ### Names used Passkeys, browsers and kinds of business are named descriptively. Sessionstub is not affiliated with any gym, tutoring agency, booking or payment service. ### Payments No paid plan is offered at present; if one is added, this page will describe it. ### Your records You own what you put in your account. You choose the labels your clients see, so keep them to a name, a nickname or initials, and for a client under 18 a nickname or initials only. You can download everything and delete your account at any time from the account page; the privacy page says exactly what is stored and for how long. ### Acceptable use Use it for your own clients' sessions. Do not put anything unlawful, hateful or anyone's private details in a label or a note, do not try to guess links, and do not send requests at a rate that degrades the site for other people. Accounts that break these terms may be closed. ### Warranty and liability The site is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind, and runs within free hosting limits that can make it busy for a while. To the extent the law allows, Sessionstub is not liable for any loss arising from its use, including a session that was not saved, a disagreement about a count, or a link that was shared further than intended. ### Contact Questions and problem reports go to socialreminderinfo@gmail.com.
